Small business foodie pop-ups are quickly becoming a big deal in the valley as of late, heck, I follow at least 50 of them on social media. Events put up by EP Black Label, Coachella Valley Farmers Market and even permanent fixtures such as the Indio Food Park are bringing the community fun, new and affordable food options. These pop-ups motivate people to get outdoors, enjoy the pristine desert weather and bring us together, in a time when isolation has been the norm. So, we thought it would be fun to do a weekly feature highlighting our pop-up favorites.

I'm blaming our inaugural pick on my sweet tooth, The Best Cookie PS. The duo behind the business, Yesenia and Bryan Brodsky are baking up these addictive cookies which are made locally and fresh daily. They keep it simple with three different cookies, The Original Killer – a walnut loaded chocolate chip cookie, self- described as the cookie that started it all; My favorite, The Sugar Monster – a traditional soft sugar cookie that always leaves me wanting one more bite, and last but not least; The Chocolate Chip – anything but ordinary, classic goodness. My go-to is the mixed box, a family favorite giving you all 3 varieties. It's $15 for a box of 20 cookies. And heads up, they also have gluten free versions available. These cookies are the real deal!
