Temecula Vol. 1
All too often we forget how close we are to our own little piece of wine country; From its flourishing culinary scene in Old Town to its many wineries scattered along the hillside. It’s time to relive the Temecula experience.
I’d like to start in Old Town at the Temecula Olive Oil Company, where they mix and match their artisanal olive oils and their amazing varieties of vinegars. This gets me in the mood to hit up the many cafes and restaurants or head to the “Wine Trails”.
I recently discovered So-Cal Sidecars, a business that
takes you around to the different wineries in a motorcycle sidecar built for two. How exciting is that, you can enjoy wine without having to drive and experience the thrill of getting there by motorcycle. Right now they have the wine tour presale at $125 pp (normally $200), wine tastings included. This will get you a 3 ½ hour wine tour experience. They’ll pick you up from Old Town or wherever you’re staying in Temecula and you’ll visit 3 wineries. As you journey there they’ll give you the history, knowledge and the particular specialties of each winery. It sounds like fun and money well spent. Check them out at their website at socalsidecars.com.
