2nd Annual RMW&FF

Rain couldn't hold back the oenophiles and foodies at the Rancho Mirage Annual Wine and Food Festival this year. Let me tell you, this year the food game was strong! But, I'll get back to that, lets talk about the wine.

Paso Robles seemed to dominate the scene and that wasn't a bad thing. There were plenty of the usual favorites from Napa and Sonoma. Some of which were Thomas George Estates, making truly solid Pinots from Baker Ridge Vineyard out of the Russian River Valley. P.S., please try their Grenache Blanc as it was stellar. Hope Family Wines had a fun lineup of Cabernet Sauvignons from the higher end Austin Hope to their everyday drinking Liberty School bottle. There were over 40 wineries represented from favorites like Rombauer to the lesser known Wines of Greece.

Some of my favorite foods were: Dirty Beans Tetela from Hoja Blanca a pop-up, Chef Omar Limon, Duck Tacos from Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, Chef Alfie Szeprethy, Mediterranean Calamari and Chickpea Salad from Catalan, Chef Drew Davis, and Smoked Ahi from T+T Innovative Kitchen, Chef Peter Smith.

Like the old saying goes," You have to be there to believe it", and "It's worth getting the early entry ticket", and that too you'll believe when you see it. See you there next year!
